The 9th Annual Carolina Rice Festival was held on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at New Hopewell Outreach Center at 1416 Bethlehem Road in Hartsville. The event drew a very large crowd and included many different food items, inflatable water slides for the children, arts & crafts as well as clothing and jewelry. Also on display was a Mobile Rice Museum with different grains of rice from across the state as well as live rice plants and documents tracing the history of rice in South Carolina.
