New fireworks rules and regulations have been presented to Horry County. The Horry County Council passed the first reading for firework regulations along unincorporated parts of the county. The new regulations will make it illegal to shoot off fireworks on public beaches, public beach access points, street ends adjacent to the beach, and any other county land in the unincorporated area. Setting off fireworks on private property will also not be allowed from 10pm-7am. The council said there could be exceptions made for firework shows and they’ll allow extended hours on private properties on The 4th of July and New Years Eve. The next council meeting is scheduled for October 4th.
