GEORGETOWN — Candidate filing for the Georgetown County School Board election closed Aug. 15, leaving seven candidates in the running for four seats this fall.
Four individuals are registered to run for the board’s two at-large seats, including the two at-large incumbents. Board members Kathy Ferdon-Anderson and Michael Cafaro are joined in the at-large race by Brian J. Miller and Robert Cox, both of Georgetown.
Scott Dubose, a retired management consultant, ran unsuccessfully for the at-large seat currently occupied by Ferdon-Anderson in March’s special election. He will face fellow Pawleys Island resident and current board member for District 6 Lynne Ford in the District 2 race.
Ford had her home rezoned into District 2 with the county’s most recent round of redistricting.
In District 7, Keith A. Moore of Georgetown is running unopposed for the seat currently held by board chairman Arthur Lance.
