STAFF REPORTS

FLORENCE, S.C. — Florence Public Works crews shut off water Saturday to areas along and off East Palmetto Street to repair a water main.

The shutoff affected residences between the 3000 and 4000 blocks of East Palmetto Street and adjoining neighborhoods.

It was followed by a boil-water advisory for the neighborhoods since the system has been depressurized for the repair.

Neighbors will be notified sometime today, following tests for bacteria, if the water is safe to drink.
