FIRST ALERT: Drier air, sunshine to end the work week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Mostly sunny skies and drier forecast will settle in for the rest of the week.

The atmosphere over the Carolinas continues to dry out leading to mostly clear skies and a generally rain-free forecast through Friday. A seasonable, late summer weather pattern settles in for the Labor Day Weekend.

THURSDAY

For the first time in a long time, skies will be mostly sunny from sunrise through sunset on Thursday. It will be a rain-free day as afternoon temperatures climb into the upper 80s to near 90.

FRIDAY

Friday will once again feature plenty of sunshine early in the day, but the atmosphere will gradually moisten up a bit by the afternoon. This will lead to a bit more in the way of cloud cover and just a very slight chance of a stray shower. Rain chances will only reach 20% through the afternoon.

LABOR DAY WEEEKND

Outside plans for the Labor Day weekend can be kept in place as the weather looks to cooperate. While humidity will increase and bring a few showers. No widespread, long lasting or heavy rain is expected. A few showers and storms will be possible on Saturday with chances at 30%. Any isolated showers and storms will fire up in the afternoon and quickly dissipate by sunset.
