Pfizer BioNtech expects to deliver three million doses by Tuesday.
The CDC has signed off on the updated Pfizer and Moderna covid-19 boosters. More than 100-thousand doses were sent as soon as the FDA authorized the updated boosters Wednesday. The advisory committee on immunization practices voted 13 to 1 to recommend the updated shots for all Americans this fall. The new bivalent booster vaccines target both omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5. Pfizer BioNtech expects to deliver three million doses by Tuesday, which is authorized for people 12 and older. Meanwhile, Moderna’s updated booster has been authorized for people 18 and older. The CDC also expects to recommend updated boosters for other pediatric groups in the coming weeks.
